View of horizon in one of the Virgin Islands
The U.S. and British Virgin Islands

January 2nd – 7th, 2006

Healthy Adventure's Maiden Voyage to the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, January 2nd – 7th, 2006 was a huge success! Over one hundred guests from around the globe met in St. Thomas at our port of call and embarked on the beautiful Nantucket Clipper, a 207-ft well appointed yacht, owned and operated by Intrav, the #1 small ship cruise company in the world. The ship chartered her way through the scenic waterways of the VI’s…..stopping at five unique ports of call…..St. Thomas, Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, Tortola and St. John. Each island presented its own unique charms, summoning us to participate fully in the adventure it offered. Be it swimming with the dolphins and snorkeling, or island hikes and tranquil walks through the town’s flavorful streets, we were full of life before returning to the ship for another breathtaking sunset and a night of laughter, learning and sharing…and of course the finest gourmet vegetarian cuisine this side of the globe. The lively and enthusiastic dinners, served by a first-class wait staff, carried the excitement of our day’s adventures, and an opportunity for celebration. After our evening lecture, many of us felt drawn to take in one last quiet stroll on deck to enjoy the calm waters, starlit skies and warm ocean breezes. What an amazing gift to be so far away from home, but to feel as if you were already there. Shortly thereafter it was time to rest and rejuvenate… wondering what excitement the new day would bring.

This was truly the vacation of a lifetime! On behalf of Healthy Adventure we send our deepest thanks and gratitude to all those that participated in our Maiden Voyage…..You made our dreams a reality!

Snorkling in Key West
The Florida Keys

January 27th – February 2nd, 2007

Healthy Adventure's second signature vacation was offered in the heart of the Florida Keys, January 27th – February 2nd, 2007. Several of our guests, who had experienced our Maiden Voyage, said that it would be nearly impossible to improve upon the quality of future Healthy Adventure programs. As fate would have it, or perhaps out of raw determination, the Florida Keys event was equally impressive and well received. Our guests reveled in the expanded lecture program and told us without reserve that it was the best food they have ever had.

For our 110 guests, this 6-night/7-day adventure at Hawk’s Cay Resort – known as Florida’s Caribbean Island – was more than they expected. In addition to a full fitness program with running, yoga, Pilates, Qi-Kung and Chinese Wand Exercise, guests had the option to participate in any number of excursions including: swimming with the dolphins, nature hikes, sea kayaking and day trips to Key West and Bahia Honda Beach State Park, which is recognized as one of the top 10 beaches in North America. They enjoyed villa-style accommodations, spa services, a private dining facility and a buffet of world-class vegetarian cuisine. As with every Healthy Adventure program, guests enjoyed evening lectures, free time, private health consultations, and fun and enjoyment with new and old friends alike.

As always, the team at Healthy Adventure send their deepest thanks and gratitude to all those that participated and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Canopy gliding in Costa Rica's Samasati Nature Retreat
Samasati Nature Retreat, Costa Rica

August 25th – 31st, 2007

Costa Rica was an incredibly special and exceptional event for Healthy Adventure. Our host resort, Samasati Nature Retreat, is an exquisite eco-friendly sanctuary sitting on 250 acres of virgin tropical forest with breathtaking views of the Caribbean Ocean.

Costa Rica is a lush and rich surrounding, home to hundreds of species of birds, butterflies and wildlife. We recognized Howler monkeys and the three-toed sloth, and experienced the caress of gentle tropical breezes and the exhilarating fragrances of countless flowers. We also swam and played in the warm waters of the Caribbean: we surfed, snorkeled and kayaked and sat down with the Shaman of the BriBri Tribe – one of the few remaining indigenous tribes of Costa Rica. We also walked on earthen paths through untouched, pristine rain forest, listening to the orchestra of bird songs and the call of wild monkeys and toucans to breathtaking waterfalls, and soared high above the tree tops on our zip-line tour of the lush tropical rainforest.

Our presenters were outstanding. Dr. Frank Sabatino spoke of the importance of a natural, “unprocessed” lifestyle, including diet; Steven Meyerowitz spoke of the 10 key aspects of health; and Nan O’Brien helped us connect with our intuitive nature. Chef Peter Cervoni and Sous Chef Mandy Catania served us heart-warming, healthy vegetarian cuisine in our open-air, tree-top dining hall. Our cuisine included both succulent and savory dishes certain to wow the most discriminating palate including the best chocolate deserts ever made from locally cultivated cacao.
